Danny McGabe, a plastic surgeon, uses an unconventional method to find women: marriage. He has lied multiple times about being married, as marriage is his safety net. However, he is not truly happy. When he meets Palmer, a young elementary school teacher, she makes him forget about his past lies and debauchery. But one day, Danny realizes he left his engagement ring in his pocket and has to tell Palmer he wants a divorce. To prove his lies, he must find his ex-wife, with the help of his coworker Catherine Murphy. As Danny tries to cover up his marriage with Katherine, things become complicated when children get involved.
