Storyline

K-19: The Widowmaker 2002

Based on a true story, the film depicts the events on the first Russian nuclear submarine, K-19, during its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic in 1961. When the reactor malfunctions, the experienced captain and his crew must work together to prevent a catastrophic disaster that could lead to nuclear war. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the film successfully combines action and suspense with a stellar cast including Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson.
