Kaili is a small town in the Guizhou Region of China where two doctors work in a small clinic, wandering around like ghosts. One day, Chen Sheng embarks on a long train journey to find his missing nephew and fulfill his mother’s last wish. His elderly partner at the clinic instructs him to take an old photograph, a shirt, and a cassette with him. In the town of Dangmai that Chen encounters on his journey, time is not linear and people’s lives intertwine. Today, tomorrow, and yesterday can exist simultaneously.
