Katyn 2007
Film, released in 1940, depicts the events where 22,000 Poles were shot in the head by the Soviet secret police under Stalin’s orders for not adhering to socialist (communist) ideology. Among the victims was Andrzej Wajda’s father. The film was nominated for an Oscar in 2008.
