In 1930s China, there was a different mood. The Axe gang took control of all the wealthy areas, not just the poor and marginalized areas. Sing is someone who wants to join the Axe gang but doesn’t do much to achieve it. He is a loser of his time. One day, he and a friend go to a poor neighborhood to pay their respects and introduce themselves as the Axe Gang, but they accidentally hit a rock with an axe. The Axe gang arrives shortly after.
