Im Labyrinth des Schweigens 2014
In the movie Labyrinth of Lies, a German drama and historical film nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, sheds light on the period after Hitler’s death. After World War II, no one has any idea of the atrocities that took place in Auschwitz, despite thousands of secret documents about the concentration camps. Most of the prisoners who managed to escape the camp, along with the Nazi authorities, chose to remain silent. Years later, a young prosecutor named Johann stumbles upon some important evidence by chance and begins to interrogate former prisoners who escaped the camp along with Nazi officers. Driven by his ideals and a sense of duty, the young prosecutor does his best to uncover the horrific events that took place for the sake of his country and humanity. During his interrogations, he will learn unbelievable things about the Auschwitz genocide that will change world history forever.
