Les Misérables, Victor Hugo’s timeless masterpiece, is an epic tale of love, passion, and sacrifice set in 19th century France. Jean Valjean, a man condemned for stealing a loaf of bread and sentenced to more than he deserves, finds redemption and becomes the mayor of the poor town of Wigau. He falls in love with Fantine, the most beautiful and impoverished girl in town, and dedicates his life to her.
