John McClane, who is no longer the tough, successful, and incorrigible person he used to be, is now struggling with alcoholism and facing divorce from his wife. Unable to perform his job due to his alcohol problem, he works at a company connected to the government where computer hackers are being tracked. When he locates the whereabouts of a hacker named Matt Foster, he goes to apprehend him. However, John McClane witnesses a large computer gang preparing for terrorist actions in the country. The gang’s aim is to take over the country’s computer infrastructure and collapse the country’s way of life. Realizing that the young hacker Matt Foster he caught is very clever, John McClane decides to use this hacker to stop the gang.
