Humbert Humbert, an English professor, moves to America to teach at a university and rents a small room from a widow named Charlotte who lives with her 13-year-old daughter, Dolores. Humbert is immediately captivated by the young and attractive Dolores, and over time, he develops an irresistible passion for her. Despite knowing that it is forbidden to have a relationship with a young girl, Humbert does not give up and marries Charlotte, a woman he does not love, just to be close to Dolores. Humbert continues to pursue his dangerous obsession, risking everything for the young girl, eventually losing his sanity.
