Macbeth, a key figure in Duncan’s army in 11th century Scotland, successfully completes a critical battle against rebels. Soon after the war, he encounters three witches who tell him that he will become king in the near future. Macbeth can’t get these words out of his mind. With his wife also influencing him, he kills King Duncan to become the ruler. But Macbeth will not settle for this, as the power he possesses has made him increasingly alone and suspicious even of his closest friends. Becoming increasingly paranoid, Macbeth decides to eliminate anything he sees as an obstacle to himself…
