Mad to Be Normal film tells the story of famous psychiatrist and one of Scotland’s brightest minds, R.D. Laing. Working from Kingsley Hall in East London during the 1960s and 1970s, Laing conducted various bold experiments on individuals with mental disorders. His revolutionary methods included conducting experiments with LSD on patients, practicing a form of self-healing known as metanoia, causing anger and controversy in the medical profession, and radically changing attitudes and perceptions of mental health worldwide. The 2018 British film Mad to Be Normal stars David Tennant and Michael Gambon.
