Major League

Storyline

Major League 1989

After a successful 34-year run, the Cleveland Indians baseball team owner Donald Phelps dies, leaving the team in the hands of his ex-wife Rachel. Rachel, who despises the cold climate of Cleveland, decides to move the Indians to the warmer Miami. However, there is a clause in the team’s contract that requires them to have an attendance of less than 800,000 for the season in order to move to another city. Rachel devises a plan to intentionally create a terrible team that loses every game in order to decrease the attendance. She hires the team manager Charlie Donovan and Lou Brown, who have been in the minor leagues for the past 30 years. They recruit players like Jake Taylor with a knee injury, Ricky known for wild pitches, washed-up Roger Dorn, and Pedro Serrano who also plays other sports besides baseball. The team starts losing game after game as planned until the players discover Rachel’s intentions. From that moment on, the Cleveland Indians players come together and start to work miracles on the field.
