Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil 1997
A writer named John Kelso (inspired by John Behrendt’s character played by John Cusack) comes to Savannah to write an article for a party and meets an eccentric Jim Williams (Kevin Spacey). The next day, Kelso decides to stay as a murder has occurred. A man named Alphonse (Jude Law) has been killed and the prime suspect is Williams, who is revealed to be gay. Kelso now tries to solve the case.
