Misery 1990
Paul Sheldon, a popular novelist known for writing easy-to-read novels, reaches a turning point in his career. He kills off his multi-part adventure character, Misery Chastain, and ends the series. Paul is injured in a car accident outside of town. Annie Wilkes, who finds him and starts taking care of him at her home, happens to be one of Paul’s loyal readers and a devoted fan of his character, Misery Chastain. Shocked by Misery’s death after reading his latest book, Annie goes berserk and imprisons Paul in bed with a severe leg injury. As the county sheriff and his manager desperately search for Paul, he must write another special Misery adventure for Annie’s protection. When Harry met Sally, directed by Rob Reiner, not only introduced the highly underrated actress Kathy Bates but also won her an Oscar for her role in this highly successful adaptation of Stephen King’s novel.
