After the happy ending of the Happy Monster Family, the Wishbone family has to deal with problems every day. Even if you recently saved the world, there is always a way for life to bring you back down to earth. Faye, the only tall girl in Max’s class, is struggling with her friends who are all good at something. Max is the youngest in eighth grade, wearing glasses, and all the girls in his class are taller than him and laugh at him. Emma, Faye’s mother, tries to help her children but her ideas are usually ignored or make the kids very angry. The Wishbone family’s magical grandmother, Baba Yaga, marries hunchback servant Renfield. This brings the family together, which is good news for Father Frank, who has a new happy job and lifestyle. But he is very upset when he sees how unhappy all the family members are.
