In the spring of 1924, Maid Jane Fairchild finds herself alone on Mother’s Day as her employers, the Nivens, have moved out. She spends the day with Paul, a boy from a nearby estate. Despite being engaged to another woman, Paul and Jane are in a long-term relationship. Unexpected events unfold, changing Jane’s life forever.
