My Cousin Vinny

Storyline

My Cousin Vinny 1992

Billy Gambini and Stan Rothenstein, two young New Yorkers, travel to UCLA. Along the way, they tell each other chilling stories about Southern cities. Making a short shopping stop in the town of Beecham, the young men have no idea what’s in store for them. Their path is blocked and they are arrested by the sheriff at the town border. Billy thinks they are arrested for forgetting to pay for a box at the market and confesses to all the charges because he is afraid of the people in the town. However, the vendor at the market was murdered and the market was robbed. Billy and Stan realize they don’t have the money to hire a lawyer as they search for their families. Their only way out is Cousin Vinnie, the lawyer mentioned by Billy’s mother on the phone. Vincent Gambini arrives in town with his fiancée Mona Lisa Vito and takes on the task of protecting the young men. But Cousin Vinnie has no courtroom experience other than barely getting through law school unnoticed. They face an experienced and effective prosecutor and judge, both graduates of the country’s most prestigious law school. Despite all the evidence against them, the young men’s situation seems hopeless and if they lose the case, they will face the death penalty.
