Chile’s military dictator Augusto Pinochet decides to take his presidency to a referendum in 1988, succumbing to international pressure. Opposition leaders hire a young ambitious journalist named René Saavedra to lead the “No” campaign. Despite limited resources and ruthless oppression from the dictatorship, Saavedra and his team come up with a bold plan to win the votes and find a way to free their country from dictatorship. In this Golden Globe-winning film by director Pablo Larraín, following Tony Manero and Post Mortem, a unique moment is captured as Pinochet’s long and brutal years come to an end, with the general falling from power.
