P.S. I Love You 2007
Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank) is a beautiful and intelligent woman married to the love of her life; passionate, humorous, and impulsive Irishman Jerry (Gerard Butler). When Jerry dies from a terminal illness, Holly’s life is turned upside down. The only person who can help her is no longer by her side. No one knows Holly as well as Jerry did. By chance, Jerry had planned everything beforehand. Before his death, Jerry wrote a series of letters to Holly, not only helping her cope with the pain but also rediscover herself. The first message arrives on Holly’s 30th birthday in the form of a cake and a tape recording. On the tape, Jerry asks Holly to go out and “celebrate herself.” In the following weeks and months, more unexpected letters from Jerry arrive in various forms. The letters lead Holly to new adventures, each signed off with the same signature: PS I Love You. Holly’s mother (Kathy Bates) and closest friends Denise (Lisa Kudrow) and Sharon (Gina Gershon) keep holding her back to the past, but each letter actually guides her towards a new future. Guided by Jerry’s words, Holly embarks on an emotional, engaging, and sometimes funny journey of discovery on how this marriage, friendship, and intense love can turn the end of death into a new beginning in this touching story.
