Perfume: The Story of a Murderer 2006

A crowd gathered in the town square to watch the decision about perfumer Jean-Baptiste Grenouille. People cheered loudly for his death as he was dragged in chains to the balcony of the castle. 22 years ago. Paris. Grenouille’s mother (BIRGIT MINICHMAYR) gave birth in the city’s fish market on the hottest day of the year. She tried to hide this unwanted child from her surroundings. However, the newborn baby was saved from his mother’s wrath by the people around him, thanks to the incredible noise he made. The child will live but will be hanged for trying to kill his mother. Grenouille spent his early years in the orphanage of Madame Gaillard (SIAN THOMAS), where the other children knew there was something odd about him. The six-year-old child couldn’t speak yet, but his incredible sense of smell was starting to show itself. At 13, Madame Gaillard sold Grenouille to Grimal (SAM DOUGLAS) for 10 francs. Grimal has a leather workshop. Living conditions are hellish, smelly nitrates, smelly leathers, but he managed to survive in this environment and became a young man. When the young man first arrived in Paris, he discovered strange scents in the air that he had never encountered before, and these scents led him to dreams he could never have.
