Petrovy v grippe 2021
Based on the novel by Alexei Salnikov, the film “Petrov Fell Ill” takes place during a flu outbreak in Russia. The film follows Petrov, a comic book writer, who finds himself caught in a whirlwind where the past and present collide, violence meets compassion, and fever mixes with alcohol and hallucinations. Suffering from a high fever, Petrov is quarantined with the family of a victim of the outbreak. The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021, following director Kirill Serebrennikov’s dedication to music history. Unfortunately, Serebrennikov was unable to attend the premiere due to travel restrictions.
