In the spring of 1958, 21-year-old Rose Pamphil lives with her father. Her widowed father owns a small shop in Normandy. Rose is set to marry the son of a car mechanic and become a housewife, but she doesn’t want this life. She goes to Lisieux to apply for a secretary position with the charismatic 36-year-old Louis Eshard, who is the boss of an insurance company. The job interview is a complete disaster. However, Rose has a talent – she can type incredibly fast. Louis challenges her to enter a typing competition if she wants to find a job. Despite all the sacrifices she has to make, Louis is determined to make this girl the fastest typist in the country. But her love for sports, or in other words, love in general, doesn’t quite agree with it.
