Pride & Prejudice 2005
In the film, set in England during the Georgian era, the lives of five sisters from a lower-class family are portrayed. The ordinary life of the Bennet family is turned upside down when Mr. Darcy, a wealthy and influential man, becomes their neighbor and close friend of Mr. Bingley. Mrs. Bennet, the mother of the five girls, is eager to see her daughters married, and believes that one of them marrying Mr. Bingley would be ideal. Mr. Bingley is smitten with Jane, and upon learning this, Mrs. Bennet sends her daughter to his house on a rainy day, ensuring she won’t be able to return home. This sets the stage for the mother’s plans to unfold smoothly.
