Successful medical student and hospital resident Dan is living a wonderful life with the dean’s daughter Megan. One day, Dan’s roommate Herbert West becomes obsessed with reanimation and starts conducting experiments on dead bodies in the basement. As West’s experiments become more ambitious, Dan is drawn into the dangerous world of reviving the dead. Megan is caught in the middle as Dan grapples with the consequences of his involvement with West’s radical research.
