Charlie is a former promoter who designs robots using low-quality metals to make a living. Struggling to get by in life, he finds himself deep in debt after his latest mistakes. Before he can think about the men who will come after him, he receives news that his ex-wife has passed away and his son Max is now alone. Taking his son in, Charlie, who hasn’t seen Max in years, finds it difficult to connect with him. Eventually, they discover a common ground and work together to build a robot, entering a major championship together. As father and son battle against the ruthless boxing robots in the arena, they face obstacles but strive to get back into the ring.

With Evangeline Lilly and Dakota Goyo also in leading roles, the film grossed over 300 million dollars worldwide.
