In 1998, a sequel to the Ring was filmed; Mai Takano becomes more involved after her boyfriend Ryuji’s death. Shortly after, she hears stories about a video cassette containing the spirit of a girl named Sadako, who died years ago. According to the legend, whoever watches this tape will die of fear exactly one week later. After a brief investigation, Mai learns that Ryuji’s son Yuichi has developed some psychic powers that Sadako still possesses. Mai must now find a way to save Yuichi and herself from becoming Sadako’s new victims.
