Clayton Poole (Jerry Lewis) is a young television repairman in a small town who has always been in love with his childhood crush, famous movie star Carla Naples (Marilyn Maxwell). However, Carla’s brother Sandy (Connie Stevens) also has feelings for Clayton and dreams of marrying him. The truth is, she is soon to star in a major film and no one can know about this marriage. So, before filming begins, she decides to have the baby and give it to Clayton, the only person she can trust, as her Mexican husband has passed away. But not just one, three babies are born and Clayton must keep his promise.
