Rock of Ages 2012
In the 1980s, a crazy rock enthusiast named Dennis Dupree opens a nightclub as a rock bar in Los Angeles. The motto of the youth of that era, “Rock and roll, sex, and alcohol”, comes back to life in this bar. The most powerful presence in the club is undoubtedly the rising new rock star Stacey Jax. On the other hand, a group of conservative women who will never allow this “immorality” in their field, will work hard to close the bar, and declare war on rock music and everything it represents. Produced and directed by Adam Shankman, starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, and Malin Akerman, with Paul Giamatti and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the acting composition, is another musical adaptation, “Hairspray”.
