Ike Graham, a troubled New York journalist, is in serious trouble. His boss is his ex-wife, he has lost his writing inspiration, and he needs to write an article very soon. Ike hears about Maggie Carpenter, a woman who is often busy in a Maryland town but always avoids weddings, and decides to write an article about her.
