Former Oscar-nominated and now fallen from grace director Victor Taranski (Al Pacino) is arguing with his lead actress Nicole Anders, who is acting out during the filming of his latest movie. Victor, who has been fired by his ex-wife and studio executive Elaine, sees his hopes of rebuilding a happy life with his ex-wife and daughter Lainie shattered.
