Three magazine employees in Seattle come across an unusual newspaper ad, which sparks their journalistic instincts to investigate further. Their suspicions lead them to follow the trail of a strange and mysterious character named Kenneth. A supermarket employee prone to paranoia, Kenneth claims to have unraveled the mystery of time travel and is preparing for a new journey. A simple and intimate character study at its core, the film also delves into science fiction storytelling and dramatic structure. With a well-crafted screenplay and an impressive performance by Mark Duplass, who breaks the cliches of time travel films, “My Little Sun” (2006) is one of the independent surprises of the year.
