Master explorer Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) embarks on the adventure of a lifetime when he discovers a historic legend about a rare coin and sets out on a treasure hunt in the most dangerous regions of West Africa. Along with his friend Al Giordino (Steve Zahn), they search for the “Death Ship” – a lost warship with a secret cargo. However, their quest leads them to a hidden treasure that poses a global threat, as they team up with the intelligent and beautiful doctor Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz).
