The film “Saving General Yang” tells the story of the legendary Chinese Yang Clan, embodying virtues of loyalty, respect for parents, generosity, and righteousness. Two prominent clans in the Song Empire, Pan and Yang, unite to defend against their sworn enemies, the Khitans. Amidst a love triangle involving General Yang’s son Yangzhao, Princess Cha, and Lord Pan’s son Pan Bao, tensions rise and lead to a deadly confrontation. Despite their animosity, the two clans join forces to fight against the Khitans. When General Yang is in dire need of help during the battle, Lord Pan betrays him by withdrawing his troops. Suffering heavy losses, General Yang flees to Wolf Mountain. Meanwhile, the Khitan commander Yele Yuan allows him to escape, intending to seek revenge by killing General Yang and his seven sons when they come to his aid.
