Lee is a young woman with a mundane relationship with her boyfriend Peter and a monotonous sex life. When she starts working alongside successful lawyer E. Edward Grey, her whole life will change and find meaning. When the lawyer’s sadistic tendencies meet the young woman’s masochistic pleasures, they both feel like they have found the playmate they have been looking for. This intriguing film won the 2002 Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize for Original Screenplay and the 2002 National Board Of Review Best Actress Award. The music of this interesting independent production is composed by the master of dark notes, Angelo Badalamenti.
