Seeking a Friend for the End of the World 2012
“Matilda,” a meteor is rapidly approaching Earth and the end of the world is expected in 3 weeks. Dodge spends his time trying to find his high school love, while Penny is the opposite. Dodge constantly avoids life, while Penny jumps at everything that comes her way. Despite all their differences, they decide they can face the end of the world together. Many of us have imagined the end of the world; fires, earthquakes, infectious viruses, massive asteroids that need to be stopped before hitting Earth… However, from writer/director Lauren Scafaria’s perspective, the end of the world is not about that. It is a romantic story about the first and last love, turning ordinary people’s reactions on the big day into a romantic tale, combining humor and sentimentality. The film stars Steve Carell and Keira Knightley.
