Serendipity 2001
Sarah and Jonathan meet in New York right before Christmas. They decide to buy the last pair of cashmere gloves at Bloomingdale’s together and go to a small cafe called Serendipity to decide who will keep them. They go ice skating in Central Park and stargaze at night, noticing that Sarah’s freckles on her forehead match the pattern of the Queen’s Constellation. Sarah writes her phone number in a book and says she will send it to a random bookstore the next day. Jonathan writes his number on a five-dollar bill and gives it to a street vendor. If fate wants them to meet again, the book will find Jonathan and the money will find Sarah. Years later, Jonathan is about to marry Hallie, while Sarah is proposed to by Lars on the West Coast. Both Sarah and Jonathan reminisce about their extraordinary night together. Jonathan brings a friend to search for the book, while Sarah comes to New York with a friend to look for Jonathan.
