She’s So Lovely 1997
Director Nick Cassavetes adapts a screenplay written by his father John Cassavetes in this film, which revolves around the obsessive love of two lovers, Eddie and Maureen. Maureen’s pregnant boyfriend Eddie goes missing for a few days, leaving her distraught and tense. She shares a few drinks with her neighbor Kiefer, who later drunkenly attacks her and attempts to rape her. Upon returning home to find Maureen in a bad state, Eddie, filled with anger, grabs his gun and goes to search for Kiefer, accidentally shooting a police officer in the process and ending up in prison. Released after 10 years, Eddie discovers that Maureen has married someone else (John Travolta) and is living a happy life with three children, including her own. However, Eddie, still in love with Maureen, is not willing to give up so easily.
