Sleepwalking 2008
After her boyfriend is arrested and she is evicted from her home, Jolene Reedy (Charlize Theron) needs a place to live with her 11-year-old daughter Tara (AnnaSophia Robb). She turns to her self-assured brother James, who is willing to host them in his modest rental house. Shortly after moving in, Jolene breaks up with another man. James, who is not ready to take care of a child on his own, tries to make his distraught niece happy. But things soon spiral out of control: James loses his job and Tara ends up having to go to a children’s home. It is then that James makes a decision that will shape his future. He takes Tara to the family farm in Utah where he spent his childhood, in order to confront his past. James’ return to the farm reopens old wounds for his father (Dennis Hopper). In this unexpected turn of events, James takes on the role of a father that Tara has never had, becoming his main focus in life.
