Some Like It Hot 1959
Two unemployed musicians, Joe (Tony Curtis) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon), witness a mafia massacre by mistake on Valentine’s Day. The gangsters, wanting to leave no witnesses, start pursuing the duo. To save their lives, the two join a girl group going on tour in Miami. Disguised as women, they go out with the group, but both fall in love with the lead singer, the blonde bombshell Sugar Kane, without being able to show their feelings for her before their true identities are revealed. So, Joe creates a third persona to approach Kane as a shy millionaire. Meanwhile, Jerry finds himself in trouble with a millionaire who is in love with his female alter ego. This comedy by Billy Wilder has become a classic of its time, starring the legendary blonde star Marilyn Monroe alongside Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. It is known that Wilder initially considered Frank Sinatra for one of the lead roles, but later switched to Curtis and Lemmon.
