Stalag 17 1953
Billy Wilder’s film Stalag 17, released in 1953, tells the tragicomic story of a group of American soldiers trapped in a Nazi prisoner of war camp. The film follows the attempts of the prisoners to escape from Stalag 17, a camp for American pilots located over the Danube River. Despite numerous escape attempts, none have been successful as an unknown informant within the camp has been exposing their plans to the German soldiers. When Captain Dunbar arrives at the prisoner of war camp, suspicions arise as to who the informant might be. Through a series of events, the true identity of the spy is revealed, leading to a plan to use Captain Dunbar to escape from the camp.
