Synecdoche, New York 2008
The film follows theater director Caden Cotard as he works on a new play while dealing with the sudden departure of his wife Adele and their daughter Olive. His relationship with therapist Madeleine Gravis becomes strained, while he finds solace in the company of Hazel. Caden decides to create a theater inside a building, casting actors to play out different lives in an attempt to give meaning to his existence and fulfill his obsession with immortality.
