Tank Girl, created by Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin, was adapted for the big screen in 1995. Directed by female director Rachel Talalay, known for “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare,” the film is set in the year 2033, after an ecological disaster has turned the world into a desert. Water, the most precious and scarce resource for human life, is in high demand. Tank Girl (Lori Petty) is a rebellious and free-spirited feminist who defies the oppressive government with her old model tank equipped with high-tech weapons.
