Taras Bulba 1962
The film begins with Taras Bulba’s two sons, Andrei and Ostap, returning from an Orthodox clergy school. Taras Bulba, like all Cossacks, believes that true education is received on the battlefield, so he sets out with his sons to Zaporozhye where the Cossack soldiers are. Their ultimate goal is to defend their faith and nation from Catholic Poles, infidel Tatars, Jews, and Turks.
