The Accused 1988
Sarah Tobias is raped by an armed man outside a bar. She reports the incident to the police and is assigned lawyer Katherine Murphy. Murphy, uninterested in the case due to Sarah’s troubled past, fails to secure a strong conviction for the rapists. Sarah’s anger prompts Murphy to realize her mistake and a new trial is initiated. Through the process, the two women bond and grow to understand each other better.
