In 1994, one of the shining films of the golden years of Australian cinema, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (along with Muriel’s Wedding), starring Hugo Weaving as Elrond in The Lord of the Rings and Guy Pearce from his role in Remember, stands out with its performances. The film is about a journey of two drag queens and a transgender dancer who are offered a job at a hotel in Alice Springs, a desert town in Australia. Bob, who fixes their broken-down bus on the road, joins the three colorful characters as they hit the road with their tour bus named Priscilla. Along the way, they discover that the woman who offered them the job is the wife of one of Anthony’s drag queens.
