The Beach 2000
Young American Richard (Leonardo DiCaprio) is driven to come to Thailand in search of adventure, desiring to find something real in this fake world and connect with it. He meets a French couple named Etienne (Guyome Canet) and Françoise (Virginie Ledoyen) at a cheap hotel in Bangkok. At the same time, he encounters an elderly traveler named Daffy who has lost himself over the years and drugs. Daffy tells Richard about a secret paradise island untouched by tourists.
