The Book Thief 2013
Our book thief is a film set during the Second World War, where Liesel, a 9-year-old girl, is given to a family in a small town in Germany as an adoptive child. Liesel grows to love this family and learns to read through a boy named Max who seeks refuge in their home. She develops a strong bond with books and finds solace in reading, escaping the harsh realities of the war. Max, a Jewish boy, also enjoys reading with Liesel, immersing themselves in different worlds and fantasies through books. However, Max lives in constant fear, hiding in the basement to avoid being caught.
