In 1969, Norway, the world’s largest oil field, Ekofisk, was discovered in the North Sea. This led to the fifty-year plunder of one of the world’s natural resources: natural gas. Years of drilling and financial gain caused a one-mile long crack in the ocean floor. When one of the hundreds of platforms disappeared in the ocean due to an earthquake, submarine operator Sofia (Kristine Kujath Thorp) is called in to search for survivors. However, what she finds is the beginning of an apocalyptic ecological disaster. During the evacuation process from all platforms, Sofia’s lover Stian (Henrik Bjelland) becomes trapped at the bottom of the ocean. What follows is a race against time to save their great love and the entire world from destruction.
