Die Fälscher 2007
Inspired by a true story, The Counterfeiters tells the story of the largest counterfeit operation by the German Nazi Party in 1936. Taking place during World War II, the Nazis scheme to print fake money in order to bankrupt other countries’ economies. A special group is formed for this task, including Salomon “Sally” Sorovich (Karl Markovich), who excels in arts and counterfeiting. Despite escaping poverty, they are troubled by their actions and conflicted with their conscience.
