They are afraid to venture out into the world or explore other places. One day, their home, a cave, is destroyed by an earthquake and they must now leave and find a new place to settle. Led by the family patriarch, Grug, the Croods set out on an adventurous journey. Now homeless, they must find a new and safe place to settle down. But along the way, they will encounter strange events and go from one adventure to another. They will come face to face with a real world they have never seen before, which will surprise and frighten them. They are not used to this new world they are seeing and they begin to be curious about things they have never seen before. Moreover, they meet Guy, a traveler who knows this strange world that the Croods are unfamiliar with very well. Guy is constantly on the move, inventing new things, and has a curious personality, as well as being very intelligent. A closeness develops between Guy and Eep, the oldest daughter of the Crood family, and the family patriarch Grug starts to become jealous of his daughter. Guy knows how to make fire, something that the Crood family, who have never seen fire before, witnesses for the first time. Guy will greatly change the lives of the Crood family.
